On their travels along the Mediterranean, Silvester and Sanne discovered flavours, aromas and dishes that bring people together. They wanted to bring that holiday feeling and Mediterranean inspiration home to Haarlem. That’s how Vester was born.

Chef Bas and a love of good food
Bas is the heart of our kitchen. With a passion for cooking and an eye for quality, he creates dishes that surprise and bring people together. Good ingredients and the stories behind them come first, including the Spanish specialities from Casalba that he personally brought to Vester.
Bas loves sharing that enthusiasm with our guests when he talks about a dish or a special ingredient. Craftsmanship, creativity and a love of cooking give Vester’s kitchen its character.
